OVERVIEW

Role: FULL-TIME FIBRE INSTALLATION ENGINEER

Location: The role is based out of our central site at Coningsby (LN4 4RT)

Wage: £10.00 - £12.00 per work hour (42.5 paid weekly hours) *Pay subject to Industry experience and / or qualifications*

Schedule: 5 days per week (45 hour week - Monday-Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm) 9-hour days with 30 minutes unpaid lunch

Quantum Communications is currently seeking to recruit a full-time Fibre Installation Engineer. This is your chance to fulfil a customer facing role with the purpose of installing our fibre broadband within the customer homes or business premises. Responsibilities for Fibre Installation Engineer

· To work as a Fibre Installation Engineer within the company, this may also involve working in any work area within the company as and when required.

· This role will include working both on-site and off-site in the public space, ensuring the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment provided.

· Work with other Operatives to understand your role linked to building, testing and fault finding along the many parts of the fibre optic network.

· Maintain Quantum’s professional standards whilst operating outside in the public space and supporting customers in their Fibre to The Premises (FTTP) journey.

· Interpret Jobs packs, recording and feeding back any anomalies that may present

themselves along the way.

· To carry out safe and effective splicing practices both underground and at height, ensuring that testing is carried out with data readings being recorded in a time-sensitive manner.

· To carry out safe and effective installation of Quantum’s broadband product in and on the customers’ property.

· To accurately collect customer details on relevant sign-up documents and forward them on as necessary.

· To perform speed and light level testing and record on standard installation documentation as necessary.

· To carry out Fault finding in both a systematic and timely manner, ensuring data is collected and recorded as necessary.

· To carry out appropriate street works practices in-line with established code of practice. By doing so positively contribute to a safe work environment ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures in the public space and highways.

· To monitor and maintain stock levels of equipment and consumables when required.

· Complete relevant paperwork / evidence and forward as instructed.

· To carry out daily vehicle and tool checks, along with associated documentation as directed.

· To support company staff with Health and Safety monitoring including completing risk assessment and near miss reports.

· Have a personal responsibility for promoting the welfare and preventing harm to yourself, workforce and members of the public.


Desirable Qualifications for Fibre Installation Engineer - *A willingness to undergo training to achieve desired qualifications arranged by Quantum Communications*

· Full Driving Licence

· Unit 01 Signing, lighting and guarding for operatives

· SA002 – Safety Underground

· SA001 –Safety overhead including joint user pole

· S7 PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation Underground

· S8 – PIA Cable Installation Overhead

· Level 2 Award in Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces


Desirable Skills/Attributes for Fibre Installation Engineer

· Able to communicate clearly and concisely with customers
